Estelle was introduced as a kind and polite girl. She values those who are dear to her, very closely. Evidenced by the fact she created the time reversal spell, for the sake of preventing Selena's parents murder.
However, she was also shown to be very vengeful and unforgiving when angered. As when she found out the truth about who Selena really was, she violently attacked her with magic. Not stopping even with Elaina's constant plea to stop.

10 years prior to the main story, she stated that she left her hometown to go abroad to another country, to learn magic and become a witch. Later on, she returned and was ordered to execute the 2nd street killer. Which was her childhood friend, Selena.
Story Events[]
Volume 3[]
Elaina encounters a flier that promises payment for an ultra-short-term job, instructing readers to visit the listed address immediately. Elaina - at the listed address - meets Estelle, a fellow witch who has been researching time travel magic. After insulting each other, Elaina inquires about the payment and job. Estelle explains her history with Selena, how she turned into a psychotic murderer after the death of her parents and abuse by her uncle, her capture, and her execution at Estelle's own hands. She then reveals that the job is to escort her to the past, exactly ten years ago in order to rescue Selena's murdered parents to prevent her unfortunate fate. Elaborating on how this can be done, Estelle reveals that she has gone to drastic lengths to ensure the success of the spell, bloodletting herself to stockpile mana, and further revealing that she will sacrifice her own magical abilities in the process of enacting the spell. She then reveals two sets of magic rings, that when worn, allow users to share their magic power, allowing Estelle to retain magical abilities for as long as they both wear the rings. Interested in seeing the city in the past, and agreeing to the terms, Elaina and Estelle travel back in time ten years.
Upon arrival Estelle explains that they have one hour to locate Selena's parents and save them before the magic ends and they return to their time, further elaborating that this will not effect their timeline, and is purely to help Estelle live with herself. Later, Estelle encounters a young Selena, and emotionally apologizes for not being able to save her before and vows to be successful this time. Alarmed, Selena politely says goodbye to Estelle, who then goes off to locate Selena's parents to save them. Elsewhere Elaina ponders the story that Estelle had told her, and wonders why a mere robbery would result in such an horrific stabbing.

Selena reveals her true colours.
Resuming her search, Elaina's ring activates, indicating to her that Estelle has entered combat, supposedly with the murderer. However, shortly before Elaina can reach Estelle, the stream of magic is cut. Now panicking Elaina turns the corner to discover a veritable hellscape. A figure stands amidst the flames, blood, and corpses, and turns to face Elaina, revealing herself as Selena. Realizing that Elaina was the woman she saw earlier with Estelle, she laughs through blood-covered teeth, stomping on Estelle's body. She explains to Elaina that her parents were cruel people, and their happiness was a facade, so she killed them. After asking Elaina who they were, she explains that they had come here to save her from becoming a murderer and being executed by Estelle. Selena, amused by this development, charges at Elaina. Still alive, Estelle having overheard the exchange, attacks Selena, launching her at a wall. Estelle, blinded by fury and heartbroken, frantically attacks Selena with magic. Elaina begs Estelle to stop, and struggles to remove her ring. However it does not stop Estelle, who burns her memories of her time with Selena in order to kill her. As the clock strikes 6, Selena's decapitated head and body fall to the ground amidst the fire. It is revealed that she no longer retains any memories of Selena, and Elaina flees her home without the payment. Collapsing on a park bench and crying, Elaina reflects on the situation, how Estelle no longer remembers her childhood friend, and how she killed her best friend twice with her own hands.
Because of these actions, it created an alternate timeline where Estelle never killed Selena and Elaina never traveled to the past with Estelle. In this "new" timeline, Estelle is still looking for the person who brutally murdered Selena in the past, unaware of Selena's true nature and that it was her alternate timeline self who ended up doing the deed after time traveling to the past.
Volume 19[]
"Violent" Elaina's Timeline[]
Ever since the time travel incident, Estelle has been trying to regain her lost memories and wants to know her former relationship with Selena without success. Estelle believes that she lost her memory by accident during her previous journey on the "new" timeline based on information she gathered from the citizens.
After many failed attempt for research more information, Estelle hired Priscilla to help her to learn more about Selena and why some people feared her. Priscilla accepted Estelle's request and began to create a special potion for her, a potion that allowed her to meet Selena inside her dream. However, upon drinking the potion, Priscilla realized that something had gone wrong with the process while creating the potion and she tried to stop Estelle but it was too late. After Estelle drank the potion, her head suddenly started throbbing in pain, so bad that she fainted afterwards. The potion absorbed Estelle's mana to create several illusions of Selena based on the citizen's memories and fears of her. The birth of these "revived" Selena caused chaos within the city, as they kept running around the town murdering its citizens leaving a bloodbath.
Because of the chaos that's was currently happening in the city, the citizens believed Estelle to be the culprit, they all blamed her and wanted her to leave the country as soon as possible for her "crimes". Despite this, Estelle chose to stay in the city to help the citizens until after she destroyed all of Selena's illusions.

Estelle and Saya working together to bring peace back from the nightmares
For the next three months, Estelle kept trying to find and destory all those illusions by herself. However, because the citizens still blamed her for what happened and refused to help, Estelle had been exhausted to the point that she haven't slept for several days because it would remind her of how the citizens hate her. One day, Estelle meet Saya who was hired by the government to clean up Estelle's mess. Saya stated that she originally wanted to take a vacation and travel around together with her sister, but because of the on-going crisis in Estelle’s country, she declined the vacation and accepted the job to help people. With this, Estelle decided to work together with Saya and tried their best to bring the peace back.
A few days later, when they returned to Estelle's office, Saya found a photo of Selena smiling, which caused her to be confused and wonder if Estelle had any involvement with the chaos that was currently taking place in Rostolf. Saya then asked Estelle about who Selena was and what was Estelle relationship with her, in which she couldn’t answer completely other than what was already publicly known, due to the fact she had lost her memories with Selena. In attempt to confront Estelle, Saya also told her story about her best friend Monica and how she died at the hands of government from her hometown. Estelle then realized that both her and Saya were really similar in many ways, they both had best friends that they hold dearly and also lost them due to tragic incidents. Saya also thought Estelle reminds her a lot of Monica, to the point that she wants to protect her and prevent the same tragedy from happening to Estelle.
Although both Estelle and Saya were struggling to keep up with, they managed to destroy almost all of the illusions. Because of their efforts, the peace was slowly returning to the city. On the day where they finally destroyed all of Selena's illusions, a man tried to attack Estelle with a glass bottle, blaming her for what happened in the city for the past three months. Soon, the other citizens also came out to surround Estelle and Saya, and kept blaming them non-stop to the point that they even claimed that Estelle must pay with her life for her unforgivable crime. Hearing those words, Saya couldn't keep her mouth shut any longer and told the citizens to calm down, explaining that Estelle wasn't the culprit and that everything that happened was an accident caused by an harmless experiment gone wrong.

Estelle cries and is about to have a mental breakdowns after suffering from the hatred by the citizens
After the citizens learned the truth and left, Estelle gave Saya a hug and cried, for the first time since the incident. Saya then wiped away Estelle's tears and told her that this isn't the time for them to rest as they still have some unfinished business to do first. With this, Saya brought Estelle to a house and healed her injury. While healing her injury, Estelle told Saya that she realized it's time for her to let go of her past with Selena and accept that her lost memories would never return.
A few days later, while helping the citizens to clean up the city, she found the last surviving illusion of Selena standing in the back alley. Estelle walks closely and tries to reach Selena, Estelle hugged Selena and then gave an apology for not being able to save her from her tragic death. Soon, Estelle destroyed the last remaining illusion with her magic.
Once the incident was solved, the government announced that they will not arrest Estelle and give her a punishment, under the request from Saya three months ago after she found out Estelle was innocent. Estelle was shocked that not only Saya requested them to forgive her, but the government also allowed her to keep her job as the official witch for the country. Although Estelle declined the offer and stated that she wanted to rest by traveling around the world before resuming her job.
Later at night, Estelle had dinner with Saya and told her about what happened after the incident. Estelle stated that she has made her decision to find a new job, although she kept the details secret from Saya and didn’t want to tell anyone about it. While Saya tells her about her journey to Estelle, Saya realized Estelle had already fallen asleep on the dinner table due to fatigue from the nightmare incident. Saya then brought Estelle to the bed and bought breakfast for her.
On the next day, Estelle and Saya said farewell to each other and then went their separate ways. While leaving Rostolf, Estelle meet Priscilla who wanted to apologize for her mistake. Estelle told her to not blame herself as the incident wasn't her fault in the first place. Estelle also gave Priscilla advice that, if people kept doing good deeds, someone would eventually see it and always give support to them, regardless of how harsh the situation would be. Soon, Estelle left her hometown and began her new journey.
Sometime after the nightmare incident, Estelle joined the United Magic Association. Estelle wished to become someone like Saya, who travels around the world while helping people she would meet during her journey. On the first day of her job as a agent of the United Magic Association, Estelle stated she is still inexperienced at this so she hopes the association can find a experienced veteran like Saya to aid her in her mission. Eventually, Estelle and Saya met again and worked together to complete their mission.

Priscilla and Arte then stop Estelle and tell her that girl just want to learn the history of Rostolf and the clock tower. That girl is revealed to be Linaria.
